Darryl farms a 115ha dairy farm along the Whārere Stream and is keenly fencing and planting his riparian areas and looking at ways to reduce the farm’s impact on the environment. He is the President of the Bay of Plenty Federated Farmers and plays a key leadership role for farmers in the region.

Darryl is a member of the Pongakawa/Little Waihī Community Group who have met for the past 4 years to guide the Plan Change 9 and 12 limit setting for water quantity and water quality.
