Background:
Phil is self-employed, working with the Waikato office of AgFirst from 2012, after 35 years with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the last 7 years as North Island Policy Manager. Since then, he has carried out a number of economic analysis across a wide range of issues. He has also been involved in several agri-environmental issues, including Lake Taupo, on the Waikato PC1 collaborative stakeholder group, and in recent years been involved with the NZ Greenhouse Gas Research Centre modelling greenhouse gas mitigations at a farm level, and presenting on this at a range of forums.
Phil is a life member of the New Zealand Agricultural and Resource Economics Society, and deputy Chair of the Waikato, Hauraki/Coromandel Rural Support Trust.
